Grade Point Average, or GPA, is an indication of a student's academic performance in their coursework and exams. It reflects the quality and quantity of coursework and exams completed by the student.

GPA gets calculated by multiplying the grade received in a given final exam or coursework by the number of credits that exam or coursework accounts for, and dividing it by the total number of credits required for that exam or coursework.

Grade point average is a number that represents the average of all the grades earned in a certain time period. This time period can be an entire semester, one year, or even multiple years in school.

After finishing high school, many students wonder how to calculate their grade point average (GPA). There are four different types of GPAs: unweighted, weighted, 3.0 scale, and 4.0 scale. All four types of GPAs can be calculated using a variety of formulas.
