Recipe Serving Conversion
A recipe is a set of instructions that will guide you through the process of making a dish. The measurements are in cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, etc. You can find many recipes on the internet or in cookbooks.
If you are cooking for someone else, give them the recipe to make sure they know what size to make each ingredient. If you are cooking for yourself, make sure to write down how much your dish serving quantity is in order to not have to guess next time!
In different countries, the volume measurements for recipes are not the same. This can make it difficult to translate a recipe from one country to another. To get around this problem, a conversion chart is usually provided with a recipe. This chart will convert volume measurements from one country’s system to another country’s system.
Some conversion charts provide only volume measurements in metric units and others also provide measurements in imperial units (such as cups). Imperial units are most often used in the United States. Metric units are most often used in Canada and throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
Some other measurements to help you convert easily are:
1 cup = 237 ml
1 tablespoon = 15 ml
1 teaspoon = 5 ml
