Clocks are one of the most important and the most used objects in our lives. They help us manage time and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

The first mechanical clocks appeared in Europe around 1300. These early clocks had only one hand which went around in a circle and they were not very accurate. The first pendulum clock was invented by Christiaan Huygens, a Dutch scientist, in 1656 and it improved accuracy immensely.

Digital clocks became widespread with the advent of digital technology, but analog clocks remain common as they are easy to read and can readily blend into a traditional setting such as on an office desk or in schools
