What is the Difference Between a Percentage & a Percent?

A percentage is a ratio, fraction, or number expressed as a fraction of 100. They are denoted using the % symbol or with the word “percent” written next to it. It is used to show a number as a part of 100.

Percentages are often used to measure certain statistics like how much people spend on different types of goods or services.

Percentages can also be used in math problems when doing percentages calculations, for example finding 50% of 200 is equal to 100.

Percent is just a way of describing “%”.
